EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT ECHO
EDE is Canada’s premier Point-of-Care ultrasound course, and is fully endorsed by the Canadian Point-of-Care Ultrasound Society (CPOCUS). Graduates can therefore enter the CPOCUS certification pathway. EDE now INCLUDES the Thoracic Applications mandated by CPOCUS for their CORE certification.
Beginning in 2001, the EDE - ED Echo course has been taught over 900 times to over 15,000 Canadian physicians. Its use has become the standard of care in all settings, from large trauma centers to remote settings to Canadian Armed Forces combat units. At the end of a single day, participants will be able to detect global cardiac activity, pericardial effusions, AAA's, intra-abdominal hemorrhage, pleural effusions, pneumothoraces, and intra-uterine pregnancies.
All of the EDE didactic material is on-line. Participants read the text and watch the lectures in the comfort of their homes and at their own pace. This enables us to provide even more hands on time on the course day. Interactive tests ensure the material is fully absorbed.
The course will be held twice, from 0800-1700 on April 23rd, and again on April 24th. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to secure a place on the course.
