Emergency Medicine Update collects and uses information only from individuals that register for the conference and uses this information for the purposes of operating the conference. This may include conference information sent to registrants by mail or email. Personal information (email addresses and mailing addresses) may be used on a selective basis to publicize and promote future EMU and other similar North York General Hospital continuing medical education events, unless requested otherwise by the registrants.
Emergency Medicine Update web site does not automatically gather any personal information from you, such as your name, telephone number, email or street address during your visit. This information may only be obtained if you supply it voluntarily, by sending us email or by registering for EMU. Internet Protocol (IP) addresses of computers that have connected to our web site are not stored unless you register for the conference on-line.
All personal information you do provide is protected under the federal Privacy Act and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. This means that, at the point of collection, you will be informed that your personal information is being collected, the purposed for which it is being collected, and how to exercise your right of access to the information.
Personal information collected is not disclosed to anyone except EMU personnel and its agents who need to know the information in order to respond to your requests and operate the conference. We do not share any personal information with other individuals, groups or organizations.
